  • Mitch Evans - elder - Lead Pastor

    Mitch serves Woodlawn as lead pastor and has served in pastoral ministry since 2006. He is complimented in ministry by his wife Leigh Ann, who is a small business owner and stay-at-home mom to their two daughters Hensley and Reagan.

    Mitch has received a Doctorate of Ministry and a Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelors degree from Carson-Newman College.

  • Justin Morehead - elder - Music & discipleship pastor

    Justin serves Woodlawn as the music and discipleship pastor. He has served in ministry since 2016 and began at Woodlawn in January, 2019. He and his wife Canaan were married in 2011. She is a stay-at-home mom, artist, and home school teacher to their two boys, James Lee and Eli. 

    Justin plans to graduate with a Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fall '24. He received a Bachelors degree from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC in 2007.

  • Don Trapp - volunteer elder

    Don serves as the Volunteer Elder for Woodlawn. He has been a member of Woodlawn for over 45 years and has served as a deacon, teacher, and in other various roles around the church. He is married to his wife, Debbie, and has three children. 

    Don graduated from Gaston College and worked for Duke Energy in the nuclear department for 35 years and retired in 2016.

  • Chris Norris - Volunteer Elder

    Chris serves as a Volunteer Elder for Woodlawn and has served in ministry throughout his life. He has been blessed in marriage to his wife Ragan since 2000, and they are blessed with four children, Jace, Clay, Anna Grace, and Owen. Chris graduated from Fruitland Baptist Bible College with an Associates Degree in Religion/Christian Ministries. He has also worked in the HVAC industry for 19 years.

    Brad Phillips currently serves as Woodlawn's interim student minister. He has assisted in ministry at Woodlawn for the past two years and works full-time in law enforcement. He has graciously agreed to serve Woodlawn and our students as an interim until a full-time candidate is found. Brad and his wife Kelly have been married since 1998. They have three children, their adult sons Ethan, and Isaac, and their daughter Madison. Brad has a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and has also received a Master of Divinity in Apologetics from Liberty University. He was recently accepted into the doctoral program at Liberty University in pursuit of a degree in Expository Preaching and Teaching. 




Support Staff

  • CRYSTAL WATKINS - MINISTRY ASSISTANT

    Crystal serves Woodlawn as our Ministry Assistant and has served in this support staff roll since 2016. She has been married to her husband, Tony since 1995.  She is a mother to three adult children, Jordan, Courtney and Michael and GiGi to one grandson, Ryder. Crystal graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a BS in Computer Science and Business in 1986. Tony and Crystal have been members at Woodlawn since May, 1996.  In addition to serving in a support staff role, Crystal has served her church community in children/preschool, audio/visual, prayer, recreation, missions and Lowell Crisis Ministry.
